In an increasingly global working environment, finally in March 2018 International Standard ISO 45001:2018 Occupational health and safety management systems – Requirements with guidance for use has been published!
The new international standard will assist organisations who operate across multiple jurisdictions, trade agreements, economic and cultural differences to proactively improve their OH&S performance in preventing injury and ill-health. ISO45001:2018 (45001) is intended to be applicable to any organisation regardless of its size, type and nature.
The new standard applies the ISO High Level Structure (HLS), identical core text, and common terms and definitions common for all ISO standards. This makes it easier for Integrated Management Systems with the overall objective to integrate health and safety into all business management functions.
Safety is evolving – the changes to the standard allow WHS to keep pace with changing work practices and technological developments.
